KRÜ Esports flip Americas with three straight 2-0s
Saturday's 2-0 over FURIA — Lotus 13-4, Haven 13-10 — is KRÜ's third straight series win.

KRÜ Esports were rated below FURIA when the two sides loaded into Lotus on April 25. By the end of map two they were two maps clear: 13-4 on Lotus, 13-10 on Haven. It went in as an upset; the scoreline suggests KRÜ would be the favorite if you ran it again.
The Lotus result is the one that matters. Thirteen rounds to four against a higher-rated Americas opponent on a map of FURIA's choosing is not a coin flip — it is the kind of dominant series-opener that compounds rating gain because it shifts the model's belief about the underlying skill gap, not just the day's variance.
This isn't a one-off. Six days earlier, on April 19, KRÜ went 2-0 over NRG — Lotus 13-10, Split 13-8 — and on April 10 they did the same to Sentinels, taking Lotus 13-8 and Breeze 13-9. Three series, six maps won, no maps dropped. KRÜ have not given up a map in their last three series.
Lotus has emerged as the comp-piece of choice. Three series in a row, three Lotus wins, never closer than 13-10. That kind of map-pool concentration is rare and tends to be either a repeat opponent's mistake or a real edge — three different opponents in a row, three blowouts on Lotus, points to the latter.
The roster doing the work: Dantedeu5, silentzz, and mwzera are the trio cited on the team page. Whether the in-game calling is coming from one of them or whether the team has settled into a structural read on Lotus, Glicko doesn't say. What Glicko does say is that the rating moved up — and would have moved more had the FURIA series not already been priced into a partial run-up from the NRG result a week prior.
Earlier in the year the picture was different. KRÜ dropped to LEVIATÁN 0-2 on February 1 (Bind 4-13, Split 10-13) and lost 1-2 to ENVY in late January after winning Abyss 13-9 and dropping Pearl 5-13 and Breeze 9-13. Those are the comparison points: a team that was being out-mid-rounded on its own coin-flip maps is now closing 13-4 against a higher-rated opponent.
Community sentiment sits at +0.30 across 432 comments — supportive, but the conversation is small. The bracket math, on the other hand, has visibly moved. Inside three weeks KRÜ have gone from a results-page afterthought to a team the Americas top half has to actually scout.
Correction (3 August 2026): this piece originally cited specific Glicko rating values. Our rating history is periodically recomputed, so those figures are no longer reproducible against current data and have been removed. The match results and the analysis are unchanged.
